Welcome
Writing assignments have long been among the
teaching tools used by College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
faculty members. Adjusting our writing assignments and our courses to meet the
university's Writing Intensive Course requirements is just another facet of
COALS' long tradition of quality teaching.
The purpose of
this Web site is to help COALS faculty members design, adjust, or augment
courses to meet the university's requirements for a Writing Intensive (W)
Courses. The requirements and application
materials are available on the University Writing Center's
Web Site.
Our goal is to
help you better understand some of the requirements and options by presenting
short definitions and examples from approved W Courses developed and taught by
your colleagues in COALS. Also included in the site are links to resources from
other writing-focused courses and programs from agriculture colleges around the
nation.
The material on
this Web site can be accessed by course (all materials from one course
grouped together) or by topic (syllabi, objectives,
assignments, rubrics,
feedback, and definitions)
As always, your
suggestions, contributions and comments are most welcome. In fact, when your W
Course receives approval, we will ask if we can include examples from your
syllabus and assignments.
